Perform a structural investigation of existing door header to determine if it would support the proposed new overhead hangar door

Project Details 

• Investigated the existing hangar 38’-0” door header for support of a new Schweiss Hangar door.
• The existing door was a side hinge door with roller wheel at the center and the weight of the door was not supported by the door header. The proposed new door was already purchased and was a top hinged door.
• Calculations indicated the existing header would not support the new door without causing the existing header to have excessive deflection and potentially cracking the gypsum wall board and
